Overview
Welcome to paradise. Originally settled in the 4th century, the island is a verdant jewel in an beautiful sea. Lush tropical rainforests and its location at the edge of an azure lagoon make Bora Bora one of the most beautiful, romantic places in the world.
Le Méridien Bora Bora’s 99 tropically themed bungalows are either perched over the spectacular lagoon or nestled at the edge of ivory sands shadowed by tall coconut trees. Over-water bungalows feature a glass-bottomed floor, providing stunning views of the marine life below. Beach bungalows offer private beaches and hammocks.
Le Tipanie restaurant features a different themed cuisine each night of the week. The Kaïnalu Club offers traditional Polynesian outrigger canoes, jet skiing, sailing, shark feeding and scuba diving.
The Turtle Sanctuary at Le Méridien Bora Bora, an effort to help save the magnificent hawksbill turtle, is the only one of its kind in French Polynesia. The hotel offers educational presentations to teach guests about these beautiful creatures, and guests can swim with the turtles in the picturesque lagoon or even “adopt” a turtle and help in the quest to return these animals to their natural wild habitat.
Features & Activities
Le Méridien Bora Bora is a Polynesian paradise offering extraordinary views of the island and overlooking Mount Otemanu as well as the Bora Bora lagoon. Situated on one of the finest beaches in the South Pacific, the resort is an ideal retreat for anyone seeking exclusive and ultimate privacy. There are no roads and no traffic – just peace, tranquility, and eye-catching tropical beauty.
There is also a wide selection of activities available at the resort. The following are provided free of charge: swimming pool, snorkeling equipment (fins, masks), kayak/outrigger canoes, pedal boats, ping pong, billiards, beach volley, free transfers to the main island, and many children activities including a playground, kid-sized windsurf boards, and snorkeling equipment for children ages 2 and older.
Le Méridien Bora Bora also offers the Turtle Sanctuary, a unique opportunity to meet, greet, and learn about marine turtles in their natural environment. You will observe their behavior, learn how they are cared for, and enjoy swimming with them in the resort’s interior lagoon. We actively participate in the protection of sea turtles, including hawksbill and green turtles. A special program has been implemented to ensure a lively and successful future for the turtles in the ocean.
In co-ordination with Bora Bora’s Ministry and the Delegation of the Environment, a team is devoted to the care of the marine turtle at the resort. This care center, located in the heart of the resort, is unique in French Polynesia.
The Kaïnalu Canoe Club is also unique to Le Méridien Bora Bora, which is the first hotel to reintroduce this traditional French Polynesia boat. Guests can experience excursions on traditional sailing Polynesian canoes, enjoy a wave-tossed journey to the rhythm of the wind, and discover the most beautiful lagoon in the world. Take a ride in a traditional dugout canoe, and experience the heritage of Polynesian tradition.
For a small fee clients can enjoy an abundance of other resort activities including jet-skiing, catamaran cruise, lagoonarium, parasailing, water-skiing, shark and ray feeding, deep sea fishing, aqua safari and more. For an ultimate moment of relaxation, pamper yourself at the Wellness Centre with a menu of therapeutic body treatments, massages, as well as feet and hand treatments.

Guest Rooms
Le Méridien Bora Bora offers five distinct categories of bungalows: Beach, Over-water, Premium, Pool Beach Suites, and Pool Beach Villas.
The art deco-style Beachfront Bungalows are available with either a queen-size bed or two single beds. The bungalows provide an exceptionally warm welcome, with burnished hardwoods, louvered windows, thatched ceilings and earth-toned fabrics throughout. Discerning guests revel in the authentic Polynesian feel while appreciating modern touches such as direct dial phone, safe, satellite-television, CD, DVD and MP3 reader, minibar, and coffee and tea amenities. Decked out with a dressing area, the spacious, air-conditioned bungalows are approximately 60 square meters. The bathrooms feature a full array of amenities plus a separate bathtub and walk-in shower. Each Beach Bungalow also offers its own private beach, with deck-chairs and hammocks available. While it is not possible to add an extra bed, Beach Bungalows can incorporate a convertible sofa to accommodate a third adult or a child.
The Over-water Bungalows are located right over the water with a large section of glass flooring providing endless fascination for guests. Each bungalow features a large deck, which is an ideal place to read or take in the sunset. Ladders from the deck make it easy to slip into the lagoon's warm, turquoise water. All bungalows are air-conditioned and have the same amenities as Beach Bungalows.
The Premium Over-water Bungalows are ideal for travelers seeking romance, privacy, or both. These bungalows boast the best views in the resort, and feature all the facilities mentioned above.
The Pool Beach Suites keep the same characteristics from the Beach Bungalows but offer a large terrace and swimming pool. These Bungalows are located along the private interior lagoon and can accommodate up to 5 guests (adults or adults + children). For child safety purposes, the pool can be covered.
The Pool Beach Villas are ideal for families or groups of friends. These new villas, inaugurated in 2009, feature 2 separate bedrooms, and a large living room overlooking a private terrace and swimming pool. Located steps from the turtle sanctuary, these villas are also along the private interior lagoon and can accommodate up to 8 persons (adults or adults + children). For child safety purposes, the pool can be covered.
